Achievements of the Department
The staff is actively involved in the development activities in the emerging areas of Computer and Technology.
Its the youngest department in the college and the faculty members had presented papers in the National Level Seminars and participated in the National and State level Conference Proceedings.
The Department aims at providing high quality training to students through the latest in computer technology. In order to maintain the standard of education, the Department constantly upgrades the academic syllabi so as to keep the students well trained to deal with changing trends in the field of Computer Science and Technology.
The Department regularly organizes a series of lectures for students and faculty by academicians and professionals of the highest repute, which lay stress on the latest innovative technologies in the field of Computer Science and Information Technology.
The department organised a state level seminar on "Mobile Computing" on 31/08/2007.

Well furnished class and labs provide a comfortable learning atmosphere.
The high-end Pentium machines are connected through the network working on NT, NetWare, Linux and SCO Unix Open Server. The Computer labs are well resourced with the latest computing facilities concurrent with emerging technologies. The hardware and software are continuously upgraded to provide a state of the art computing environment. Students have access to fast and efficient computers that are inter-connected through a LAN.
Teaching aids:
The faculty members have access to various audio-visual teaching aids to help in the delivery of classes. The library has informative and relevant books to supplement the study materials.

A rich collection of computer books, journals and magazines are available.

Informal Learning:
Seminars related to IT, Management, Personality Development etc., are conducted on regular basis so that their knowledge is not restricted to books, and it definitely helps them develop into better professionals for the future.
Various activities are organized by the students committee to encourage interaction between students. OSS, Field Trips, Cultural Events, Inter and Intra campus fests, and other outings are organized for greater student interaction and team building. The Lycos Club was formed and helps the students to develop their extra skills in the field of computer science and Information Technology
Project Works:
The PG students of the Department have done projects in major companies like TCS, HCL, RAMCO, CTS, NatureSoft, NAL, ISRO, NLC, IGCAR etc.
